Over recent years there has been much confusion about among Belle Isle's many institutions: the Casino. this is not a gambling casino, but rather uses that old sense of the phrase, a place for "public entertainments." This Casino has been used for this function since the original structure was internal the 1880s, serving as a gathering spot for Detroiters for generations.
The first building being called the Casino was internal 1887, as Belle Isle was being transformed into a municipal park. It was constructed to keep events, bazaars, and read more things of that nature, which its successor was made to do at the same time. The original building burnt down in the early 1900s.
The original building was replaced in 1907 having a building created by the firm of Van Leyen and Schilling. This building has continued for everyone its function successfully for approximately 10 years now, as well as future seems to be secure well into the future, regardless of the problems that Belle Isle has received in recent years.
